Opening to the public in March 2026
As the future visitors’ centre of the United Nations in Geneva, the Portail des Nations will open its doors to the public in March 2026. Located just below the Flag Alley, at the entrance of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, this new public space aims to bring to life and promote understanding of the foundations of multilateralism, as well as the role and work of the United Nations in Geneva through an immersive experience accessible to all. More than just a visitors’ centre, it is a place for learning and civic engagement.

Conceived, developed and managed by the Fondation Portail des Nations in collaboration with the United Nations in Geneva, the Portail des Nations is the result of a strong vision championed by its president, Ivan Pictet: “to enable everyone to understand the fundamentals of multilateralism and the role and work of the United Nations family in Geneva.”
